Panettone is a long-standing holiday tradition anticipated by many families, and Italian-style Panettone from the baking company is high, light and rich with the scents of citrus and Madagascar vanilla. Enriched with sweet-cream butter, clover honey and egg yolks cracked by hand, this fluffy loaf is studded throughout with dark raisins, candied citrus peel, and the zest of oranges and lemons. Each rich loaf is shaped by hand and finished with a crown of coarse pearl sugar. A festive holiday gift, Panettone makes a unique dessert or a special afternoon treat with tea or coffee. Panettone’s flavor and texture also make it ideal for French toast.
Panettone from CRUST is made from a traditional Italian recipe. Dark raisins and candied lemon and orange peel are soaked in Madagascar pure vanilla extract for a minimum of 30 days. The levain for this delicate loaf is aged for several hours before mixing, allowing time for flavor to develop. Mixing of ingredients is done in several stages, with sugar and butter added separately. The soaked dried fruits are mixed in last, followed by a minimum 4-hour fermentation. Again, this allows the loaf’s flavor to fully develop. Dough is then divided by hand and placed in panettone papers for a final fermentation stage of 5 hours. A garnish of egg wash and peal sugar is added just before baking.

Store your Panettone in plastic on the counter for 2-3 days. Our bread can be frozen. Just double bag the loaf in plastic and freeze for up to a month. Thaw at room temperature; reheating of our Panettone is not recommended.
