Stollen is a long-standing holiday tradition anticipated by many families, and German-style Stollen from the baking company is packed with special ingredients – rum-soaked raisins and cranberries, real butter, whole and slivered almonds, crystallized ginger, candied citrus peel, nutmeg, and coarse-ground black pepper. A rope of housemade marzipan runs the length of each loaf. Stollen loaves are all shaped by hand. After baking, each loaf is dipped in melted sweet-cream butter, rolled in granulated sugar and finished with a drift of confectioners’ sugar. A festive holiday gift, Stollen makes a unique dessert or a special afternoon treat.
Our Stollen is made from a traditional German recipe dense with dried fruit macerated in rum and spices for a minimum of 30 days. A specially-prepared sponge is made prior to the mixing of each batch and supports the fermentation process. CRUST uses a three-stage mixing process for our Stollen, starting with development of the dough followed by addition of real butter. The dried-fruit soaker and almonds are mixed in last.
Classically trained bakers then divide and shape the loaves around a rope of housemade marzipan. The shaped loaves ferment briefly before baking. Once cooled, loaves are dipped in melted sweet-cream butter, rolled in granulated sugar and finished with a drift of confectioners’ sugar.
Each Stollen comes beautifully wrapped in clear cellophane with a festive bow. German Style Mini Stollen also available.

Store your stollen in plastic on the counter for 3-7 days. Stollen can be frozen. Just double bag the loaf in plastic and freeze for up to one month. The confectioners’ sugar may re-absorb into the bread’s surface when thawed, but this does not affect the quality or flavor of the loaf. Ready to eat? Simply thaw the wrapped Stollen at room temperature. Reheating is not recommended.
