Description
We invite you into our kitchen to learn about some traditional Irish comfort foods to help celebrate the month of March! These recipes are inspired by Irish culture and the food items that are readily available to its people. Included in today’s class are two classic Irish recipes that you’re going to want to eat even after St. Patrick’s Day!
We will be making homemade Shepherd’s Pie… a savory casserole topped with a layer of creamy mashed potatoes. This casserole features plenty of meat, vegetables, butter, and herbs. In Ireland, the casserole is made with lamb. We have modified the recipe to substitute beef for the American palette. Served on the side is a flavorful Piccalilli… a yellow-colored vegetable relish that is a conventional accompaniment to flavorful casseroles or stews. Sounds delicious, doesn’t it?
Come join our CRUST team for the afternoon! Shepherd’s pie is the ultimate all-in-one dish that’s a wonderful way to sneak some extra veggies into dinner. Class sizes are limited so we can be in the kitchen with each student, giving them the personal time and instruction needed to learn more about prepping, assembling, and baking! Our goal is to inspire your inner baker, to teach you a ton about traditional baking methods, and most importantly to make sure you have loads of fun while you participate. We look forward to seeing you soon!
