Description
Have you ever wanted to decorate a beautiful cake but didn’t know where to begin? Or perhaps you tried to make a cake for a past event but the stress that came with assembling and decorating the cake was just too much. Then, this class is for you!!! Come join us to learn How to Decorate a Cake like a pro. Uneven frosting? No worries. We’ll straighten that out! Wonky layers? We’ll have them sitting pretty in no time! Lackluster décor? Not anymore!
We’ll start at the very beginning and will walk you through the tools and tricks of the trade. You’ll begin by learning how to assemble, hold, and use a piping bag. Practicing how to pipe frosting is a must! Next, you’ll apply your newly gained piping skills to smaller cakes… cupcakes to be exact! Once you’ve built some background knowledge and confidence with decorating cupcakes, you’ll be ready to move on to your cake. You’ll learn how to level the layers, how to keep them moist with simple syrup, how to torte and fill the center, how to crumb coat it, and last but not least… how to frost and decorate the cake!
This class will be led by a CRUST baker who will take you down the path of excellent culinary instruction and advice. Along the way, our baker will give you a bunch of tips and tricks to take your cake decorating skills to the next level.
Class sizes are limited so we can be in the kitchen with each student, giving them the personal time and instruction needed to learn more about pastry arts! Our goal is to inspire your inner baker, to teach you a ton about traditional cake decorating methods, and most importantly to make sure you have loads of fun while you do it!
You’ll leave class feeling accomplished in addition to having some lovely desserts to share with family and friends when you get home. As people compliment you on your decorating skills and ask if it was hard… you’ll happily reply, “It was a piece of cake!” Let’s start decorating!
